She has performed in operas and musicals across the United States and Europe. Recognized for her “superbly characterful singing” (Live Theatre UK), Ashley has also been successful portraying roles in the Baroque repertoire, “demonstrating excellent fluidity in her ornaments." (Early Music Reviews). She has performed roles such as Christine Daaé (The Phantom of the Opera), Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Josephine (HMS Pinafore), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Elvira (I Puritani), Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Aricie (Hippolyte et Aricie), Diana (La Calisto), Costanza (La Griselda), and Phénice (Armide). The study of voice is a visceral and satisfying way to experience music. The pursuit of singing either at a virtuosic level or at a folk “communal” level is something that is accessible to everyone. Each client is taught how to read music and play piano at a very basic level. Above all, each client is given a vocal technique that is based on the revival and conservation of “bel canto” technique, which facilitates all styles. Women are taught headtone and men are taught mixed voice. All are taught how to cover through the uppermost extensions of the voice.
